A Sanctuary Built with Soul

Welcome to Chapel Bricks - our lovingly restored retreat in the quiet village of Withernwick, owned by Ray and Tracey Archer.

As a nurse, Tracey understands how vital it is to find a peaceful space to truly switch off and recharge. That is exactly the feeling we fell in love with when we discovered this building.

Built from the original chapel bricks, we have honoured every inch of its history. Throughout the cottage you will find iconic Hornsea Pottery and the building's original wooden hymn board, preserved from the old chapel - touches that give this space a character you will not find anywhere else.

Perfectly placed between rolling countryside walks and the refreshing breeze of East Coast beaches, Chapel Bricks is your gateway to the very best of East Yorkshire.

Location

Chapel Bricks sits on the high street in Withernwick - a quiet, picturesque village about 10 minutes inland from Hornsea. An ideal staycation base for dog-friendly beaches at Mappleton, or day trips to Beverley and Hull.

Parking & Access

Free on-street parking is typically available directly outside or along the road. Please do not block neighbouring driveways.

Garden

A side path provides pedestrian access to the securely fenced back garden. This path is for foot access only - vehicles are not permitted. Please respect boundary lines with neighbouring properties.

House Rules

A Few Gentle Reminders

We want every guest - two-legged and four - to feel at home whilst keeping Chapel Bricks beautiful for everyone.

Check-in & Out

Check in from 3pm, check out by 10am. This gives us time to get the cottage “nurse clean” and perfect for your arrival.

Honesty & Breakages

Accidents happen - please let us know before you leave so we can replace anything before the next guest arrives.

Guest Occupancy

Friends are welcome for a cuppa or dinner, but only guests listed on the booking may stay overnight.

Peace & Quiet

Please keep noise to a minimum between 10pm and 8am so our neighbours enjoy the village tranquillity too.

Smoke-Free

To protect our historic woodwork, Chapel Bricks is strictly smoke-free and vape-free throughout.

Securing the Cottage

Please ensure all doors and windows are securely closed whenever you head out.

For Our Four-Legged Guests

Comfort & Treats A cosy dog bed, treats and poo bags are provided - help yourself from the drawer.
Mindful Moments Dogs may be left unattended only if you are confident they will be settled and respectful.
Paws & Furniture Please keep paws off sofas and beds to keep linens fresh for every guest.
Sandy Paws Use the doggy towel by the door after beach days at Hornsea.
Garden Etiquette Please pick up after your dog immediately using the bags provided.
